Going Gatsby

The obsession with all things Great Gatsby went into overdrive on Saturday night when I had a 1920s themed birthday party. Held at the Lost in Found in Birmingham, a whimsical, Victorian style bar with flowerpots and birdcages hanging from the ceiling, a fantastic range of cocktails and a secret, hidden bar, the place was full to the brim of dapper gents and beautiful ladies. The glorious heat of recent weeks made it difficult to go as Gatsby as one would have liked to (I opted for a straw boater instead of a gorgeous pink rag of a suit with a peacock feather lapel pin) but a you can see, everyone looked pretty spectacular. Then pictures below are a select few from Saturday night and go to show how easy it is to do a theme, that at first thought can be quite daunting.

Get the Gatsby look - Topman straw boater, Topman slim fit double cuff shirt, All Saints navy skinny chinos, gold Alexander McQueen skull cufflinks, blue suede tasselled loafers from Asos.

Ladies looked amazing in flapper girl dresses, pearls, head pieces and vintage style hair.

How rakish do these gents look? Big round of applause to Mr Adam Keogh and Mr Tom Woulfe in white trousers, blue shirt and tan shoes, and tuxedo trousers, bow tie and white shirt.

More gents looking dapper. Mr Andrew Gregg in tweed waistcoat, tie and brogues.

More ladies looking stunning.

This is what happens when Gatsby has had a few drinks.

So rakish
